Hello, and a heartfelt welcome!

My name is Kerron, and I’m a passionate traveler who has explored more than 60 countries. Hosted many foreign toursit from across the world. Invented 'vountourism' culture in my city. Recipient of 'Toursit Friend' Award organized by the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation of Government of Maharashtra.

I’ve lived and worked in places like New Zealand and The Netherlands, and currently serve as the Vice President of a leading Italian organization. My professional experience is built on managing European-funded projects that focus on cross-cultural understanding. I've had the privilege of training individuals from over 25 countries in Russia and leading training sessions for people from Italy, Latvia, and Poland, asia and South America and all centered on building bridges through shared experiences. This work has taught me that the most meaningful connections are made when we step beyond our own borders to engage with others.

This desire to truly live a place is what inspired me to create "Cultural Cruise with Kerron" ('Cultural Cruise' With Kerron | CCWK |www.ccwk.in) right here in my hometown of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

What is the "Cultural Cruise with Kerron"?

It’s a social experiment and a genuine cause—my way of giving back and fulfilling a personal mission. 'Kadha with Kerron' specially is the getaway to step in to our home and is totally FREE OF COST. As someone deeply involved in projects that explore 'Cultural Differences,' I invite you to step beyond the ancient Ajanta and Ellora Caves to discover the living traditions of our community. This isn't a commercial tour; it's a series of intimate, cultural exchanges where you'll experience my city and my home. Join me for an authentic, personal experience, where we'll share stories, laugh together, and build connections from one traveler to another. Get ready to be swept up in the joyful chaos of an Indian festival! This experience is a high-energy immersion into a local celebration, where you'll discover the vibrant colors, rhythmic music, and mouth-watering food that define our community's biggest parties.

We'll dive headfirst into the festivities. During Ganesh Chaturthi, you'll feel the ground vibrate with the energy of dhol pathak, the traditional drum troupes. You can even join in, dancing on the streets with locals as we accompany the Ganesha idols in lively processions.

For Holi, be prepared to get messy! We'll show you the "right" way to play with colors, sharing some lesser-known secrets of the festival as we playfully chase each other, throwing bright powders and water.

And during Diwali, the Festival of Lights, we'll give you an authentic, behind-the-scenes look at the celebrations. You can participate in the fun of making traditional sweets and helping to light the homes with beautiful diyas. We'll also take you to a local market to pick out the best firecrackers for a dazzling light show.

This is more than just an observation; it's a chance to truly participate. The Cooking Experience
We'll start with a trip to the local market to hand-select the freshest seasonal ingredients. Then, back in the kitchen, we’ll guide you step-by-step through the preparation of a traditional Maharashtrian meal. You'll learn the techniques for balancing the unique blend of sweet, sour, and spicy flavors that define our cuisine.

Beyond the Meal
But the experience doesn't stop there. Have you ever wondered how to make snacks that last for months, or even years, without losing their crunch? We'll teach you the art of preparing quintessential Maharashtrian pantry staples. You’ll learn to make homemade chips and other traditional fried snacks like Kurdai and Papadam, which are sun-dried and stored for a year-round supply of deliciousness. 😋

Learn about the vows, the customs, and the joyous community spirit that surrounds an Indian wedding. The Pre-Wedding Fun
The festivities often begin days before the main ceremony. The Haldi ceremony involves family and friends applying a paste of turmeric to the bride and groom. This ritual is believed to cleanse and purify the couple, bringing a radiant glow and warding off evil spirits. The Sangeet is a night of pure celebration, with both sides of the family coming together for choreographed dances, lively music, and joyous performances. It's a fantastic way for everyone to get to know each other and break the ice.

The Sacred Vows
The main wedding ceremony is held under a beautifully decorated canopy called a mandap. The central and most significant ritual is the Saptapadi, or the "seven steps." The couple, with their garments tied together, walks around a sacred fire (Agni), which acts as a divine witness to their vows. Each of the seven steps represents a specific promise for their married life, such as supporting each other, sharing in life's joys and sorrows, and praying for prosperity and happiness. This ceremony is what makes the marriage complete and binding in the eyes of Hindu tradition.
